OBJECTIVES OF THE ACTIVITY
Empowering the vulnerable children with knowledge about education and supporting them with
basic scholastic materials to enable them go back to school with hope.
PROCEDURE
A) Mobilization
The activity started by mobilizing community leaders (chairperson LC1) who were given the
responsibility of identifying the vulnerable children in their villages (children of the poor and
orphans)
A favorable date (2/2/2025) was communicated to the chairperson and the children plus their
parents career guidance
B) Career guidance
The day started with career guidance given to the vulnerable children + parents with emphasis on
i) Importance of education to the children
Building knowledge and skilled workforce, reducing crime, reducing poverty levels, equipping
children with confidence, promoting gender equality
ii) Responsibility of parents in educating a child
i.e
Encouraging children, providing scholastic materials to children, monitoring children’s
performance, creating a relationship with teachers
iii) Threats to progress in education 1.e peer pressure, early pregnancy, laziness, lack of focus
C) Distribution of scholastic materials
The vulnerable children were offered with scholastic materials depending on the requirements
for the particular class the child is in.
Some children received mattresses; others received pens, pencils, sets, books, graph books,
outlooks, and handwriting books.
OUTCOMES OF THE ACTIVITY/ACHIEVEMENTS
> Over 80 children received knowledge
> Career guidance
> Each child received most of the necessary scholastic materials
> Hope was instilled in children who had no hope of starting school.
